House
Spyr
House Spyr are the rulers of The Northern Isles, and their seat of power is Spyr House. The Spyr’s are the newest ruling house in Faelund at only fifty-seven years old. Chosen by the people after the ousting of the last in a long line of mainland noble lords and ladys sent to rule over The Northern Isles. Once chosen and imbued with the power of a ruling house the Spyr’s built a brand new residence. It became their seat of power and the building from which the new government they were establishing would be ruled out of. Spyr House is smaller than most palaces and it sits on the beach directly in the water to allow the merfolk population that lives in The Northern Isles access to the residence. The lower two floors are flooded at all times and during high tide water level reaches the fifth floor.

House Bathos are the rulers of The Bad Lands, and their seat of power is Ashcliff. Like most of The Bad Lands Ashcliff is located in the underground cities and tunnels of the large volcanic mountain range that covers the territory. While the inside of Ashcliff resembles the opulent dwelling of a High Lord of a noble house the only indication of wealth from the outside are the large window. In The Bad Lands where class is very stratified only the wealthy can regularly see the outside and only uber wealthy can live with multiple windows the outside world.

House
Brytefall
House Brytefall are the rulers of Nyterra, and their seat of power is Starhold which is located at the northeastern tip Faelund. Nyterra is the largest and northern most of the territories of Faelund. For 6 months of the year, it is pitch black. For two months on either end of that there is minimal light, and there is only real sunlight for about two months out of the whole year. Starhold castle is made of dark stone and is made entirely of spires and turrets to . All of the windows of the castle are stained glass of purple and deep blue so that it is less likely for light to be seen from the outside. The strange architecture serves the purpose of making the castle appear like an unassuming mountain to any attackers approaching in the twilight dark.

Qorleon
House Qorleon are the rulers of The Highlands, and their seat of power is High Keep. High Keep is situated at the top of Mount Dieudonne. It is one of the oldest buildings in Faelund and because of its position repairs are incredibly costly and dangerous. For this reason when parts of the castle begin to fall apart due to the shifting of the mountains they are often left to disrepair. Entirely new sections will be built to accommodate their loss.

Oviron
House Oviron are the rulers of The Marsh, and their seat of power is Everglade Hall. Everglade Hall was named after the late beloved wife of the High Lady Urania of House Oviron who revolutionized trade and grew House Oviron’s wealth and prowess. She built the palace her wife had always dreamed of in her honor. It is an series of treehouses connected through a system of ropes ladders that sites high above the treehouse city of Everglade.

Quinn
House Quinn are the rulers of The Valley, and their seat of power is Greenhollow. The Quinn’s are one of the most ancient houses in Faelund claiming, as many great houses of The Valley do, that they are direct descendants of The First Ones, created by Terase, Goddess of Harvest and Queen of All-Above. Due to the blessing of Terase on the lands of The Valley the Quinn’s are the wealthiest family in Faelund by far. The original Castle Greenhollow was torn down many centuries long past in favor of a grand palace that better showcased the wealth and opulence of House Quinn.

Illdadrin
House Illdadrin are the rulers of The Protectorate and the Kingdom of Faelund. Their seat of power is Sunspot which is located in the city of Solar’s Grace. As the Illdadrin family had been devout worshipers of Solar, God of Light and Life, long before the time of Valor the Valiant and Solar’s blessing on the House of Illdadrin Sunspot was built in reverence towards him. Sunspot sits on the cliffs along the coast and is the first building light touches at the break of dawn, hence the name. It is built out of pale marble to reflect as much light as possible.
